A Colney Heath primary school is "excited" to confirm its status as an academy.
On April 9, Colney Heath Junior and Mixed Infant School converted to academy status, joining the Spiral Partnership Trust.
An extract from the school's spring newsletter reads: "On April 1 we will be joining Spiral Multi-Academy Trust, a family of other local primary schools who share the same values and ethos to 'Shape a Better Future' for our children."
Other schools under the trust include Fleetville - both junior and infant & nursery schools - Mandeville Primary School and Mount Pleasant Lane.

"From April 1, our school name is officially 'Colney Heath Primary School' rather than our current title of Colney Heath Junior and Mixed Infant and Nursery School," the newsletter adds.
"Around school on a daily basis you may not notice any immediate changes for your child, but we will be working closely with our Spiral colleagues to develop our provision and will keep you updated on opportunities to find out more."
Under the Academies Act 2010, schools may apply to the Secretary of State to convert to academy status. These schools are known as academy converters.
On conversion to academy status, the existing school closes and a new school opens in its place. Although little may have changed, the academy converter is a new legal entity.
