Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a motorcyclist was killed in a Hatfield crash.
Officers were called at 3.12pm yesterday (April 1) following reports of a serious road traffic collision on South Way.
Emergency services attended the scene, including the ambulance and fire service, and road closures were put in place.
A white Yamaha motorbike and a black Lexus were involved at the junction with Bishops Rise.
The motorbike rider, a man aged in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 50-year-old man from Pinner was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Constable Neil Crosier, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly, our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this very sad time.
