St Albans' Topps Tiles store is at risk after the retailer announced it would be closing a number of sites.
The tile retailers has confirmed 23 of its 319 stores will be shutting down over the coming six months, with tougher home improvement market and rising costs to blame.
The company did not disclose what impact the moves would have on its 1,850-strong workforce but said it would offer affected staff jobs elsewhere within the business where possible.
St Albans' Topps Tiles store in Hatfield Road could be among those at risk, with the business refusing to confirm which locations will be closing.
"At this time, we are unable to provide further details around which specific stores are closing. All affected store colleagues have been made aware of the relevant closures," a spokesperson told the paper.
Topps Tiles chief executive Alex Jensen said the decision was a "self-help measure" designed to support profit growth.
"In light of subdued consumer sentiment and geopolitical uncertainty as well as the cumulative impact of cost inflation, the management team is implementing a targeted programme of self-help measures weighted towards the second half," he said.
"These actions are designed to support year on year profit growth and provide a stronger financial platform for 2027 and beyond."
