An ice cream brand with "deep roots" in the district will launch its new location in St Albans city centre tomorrow.
Offering a free scoop to its first 300 customers, Darlish is opening in the Jubilee Square development on Victoria Street this Saturday (March 28).
The company's owner Laura Dawson says they will offer customers café-style produce such as hot drinks and cakes as well as ice creams.
Laura, a district resident, founded Darlish ten years ago and started out selling her produce at St Albans Sunday Market from a cart.
This summer, she will be running six outlets including a pop-up from early July through to September in Harpenden and three in central London at Spitalfields, Bloomsbury and Notting Hill.
The Herts Advertiser spoke with the owner who said she is "thrilled" to announce that Darlish has found its permanent St Albans home to be open "all year round".
"Come and enjoy our delicious sandwiches, toasties, freshly brewed coffee, and of course our much-loved ice cream, whatever the season," Laura added.
"Nestled alongside a beautiful community garden, we're the perfect spot to take a break and treat yourself."
The owner also confirmed an "exciting new menu" is planned for the summer.
"Come along, try something new, and be part of something special," she added.
"We can't wait to welcome you."

The ice cream's flavours and ingredients are inspired by Laura's Persian heritage with her father hailing from Iran.
Darlish describes itself as “the home of the baklava ice cream sandwich” while its signature scoop contains a blend of the Middle Eastern flavours of saffron, rose and pistachio.
Jubilee Square is a council development which has regenerated a formerly run-down part of the city centre.
It comprises 93 new flats, including 33 social rent properties, and 5,000 square metres of commercial space.
Some 94 per cent of the office space has either been leased or is under offer with confirmed tenants including Co-Space and a HSBC.
