A trio of schools in St Albans and Harpenden have been included in a new list of England's best primaries.
SchoolGuide.co.uk has published its latest ranking of the nation's schools, using the most recent data from February 2026.
Skyswood Primary & Nursery School in Chandlers Road was ranked the highest in the county at 52nd due to its 'outstanding' Ofsted report and the fact that 87 per cent of pupils meet the expected standard in reading, writing and maths compared to the national average of 62 per cent.
Ranking in 105th is Cunningham Hill Primary School, which is also rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted.
The Cell Barnes Lane school has 87 per cent of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
Wood End School, in Harpenden, rounds off the district's representation placing 162nd. As per all the schools on the list, it boasts an 'outstanding' Ofsted grading and 80 percent of students meet the aforementioned expected standard.

The website was set up with the purpose of using data to "help you make a hassle-free, informed choice for your child" and uses government and Ofsted data to produce its list.
It stresses that it uses "a range of data, not just exam results", arguing that some league tables focus too narrowly on academic achievement.
According to the guide, the nation's top primary school is South Farnham School in Surrey.
The same website also produces a guide to England's best secondary schools, which featured a number of schools in St Albans and Harpenden.

- Sandringham School, St Albans - 114th
- Sir John Lawes School, Harpenden - 121st
- Beaumont School, St Albans - 150th
- Roundwood Park School, Harpenden - 156th
Across Hertfordshire, schools in Hitchin, Potters Bar, Garston, Rickmansworth and Watford also made the cut.
