An Agatha Christie play is set to be staged by the High Street Players.

The classic thriller "The Stranger" is being brought to life by the High Street Players.

Performances will run from March 25 to March 28, at the Southdown Performing Arts Centre, Harpenden.

The evening shows will start at 8pm, with a matinee on March 28 at 2.30pm.

Director Margaret Cox opted for this lesser-known Christie work as a fan of the author, highlighting the play's enduring contemporary relevance.

An early novel adaptation, the plot focuses on Enid, a woman yearning for adventure, who marries a mysterious stranger, only to face ensuing problems.

Christie wrote "The Stranger" during a challenging period and it was not published or performed during her lifetime.

Tickets: £12 at hsplayers.org.uk or 01582 620269.
