The Met Office has issued two new weather warnings covering Hertfordshire as Storm Goretti is expected to cause disruption across the county.
A yellow ice warning for this evening (Tuesday, January 6) and tomorrow morning says the emergence of icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths could lead to injuries from slips and falls.
Travellers should plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal as not needing to rush reduces your risk of accidents.

Those needing to make journeys by foot should try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery.
A second yellow alert, this time for snow, has also been issued, warning Storm Goretti is likely to bring heavy snow between 6pm on Thursday, January 8 and midday on Friday, January 9.

Rain is expected to turn into snow over parts of England and Wales on Thursday night, with 5 to 10 centimetres expected to settle, and a potential for 20 centimetres in some locations, especially over higher ground.
The warning says there could be travel delays on roads, stranding some vehicles and passengers, delays or cancellations to rail and air travel, some rural communities could become cut off and power cuts or mobile phone network outages may occur.
It continues: "Snowy, wintry weather can cause delays and make driving conditions dangerous, so to keep yourself and others safe, plan your route."

"If driving, leave more time to prepare and check your car before setting off.
"Make sure you have essentials packed in your car in the event of any delays (warm clothing, food, water, a blanket, a torch, ice scraper/de-icer, a warning triangle, high visibility vest and an in-car phone charger)."
To prepare for potential power cuts, people should consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
People should also be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly, with the Met Office recommending people continuously check forecasts in their area.
