Plans have been submitted for a new five bedroom house in St Albans.
An application has been made to the district council that would see a garage outbuilding on the grounds of 508 Hatfield Road demolished to make way for a new property.
Plans, submitted by the owner of the current property, also include an expansion of the car park, with the number of spaces doubled from three to six.

An accompanying letter from developers Sheldon Peever studios sheds some light on what to expect from the proposed property.
It says: "The new external walls will be finished in a mixture of brick and render matching the local vernacular. The pitched roof will be a slate effect tiled finish."
Seeking to address possible concerns from neighbours, the letter goes on to say: "There is no increase in overlooking or loss of privacy and amenity issues in relation to adjoining neighbours."
The plans are now open to a public consultation, with no comments or objections received at the time of writing.
You can view and comment on the plans until September 6 by visiting the St Albans City and District Council and entering the reference number 5/2024/1302.
