A 27-year-old woman has been arrested after a burglary in St Albans.
At around 3.50pm on Wednesday, August 7, a woman gained access to a home in Marshalswick Lane after knocking on the door and offering to sell products.
The woman was invited in, but is then believed to have trespassed to another part of the property before stealing a quantity of cash from the victim’s purse.
Work between police officers in St Albans and the CCTV team at St Albans City and District Council has led to the arrest.
She has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Krisztina Gulyas said: “This is a great example of how the local council and police work together to keep the local area safe.
“Without this CCTV the chances of us being able to identify the suspect would be slim and as a result the possibility of arrest would also be small.
“At this time, our enquiries are still ongoing, and the suspect has been released on police bail."
