The mayor of St Albans has officially opened a new community café at the city's Salvation Army church.
Named 'Sally's' the café will be open to the public four mornings per week, from Tuesday to Friday, and also offers a space for different groups to access.
The Centre 33 charity will also utilise the café to serve around 30 hot meals every evening to those who cannot afford them.

The mayor, Cllr Anthony Rowlands, expressed his delight over the Salvation Army's desire to "create an environment that is welcoming for everyone. A place where people can come together, feel included and where that special touch shines through."
Sally's will be manned by a small, dedicated band of volunteers led by manager Sandra Orchard who said: "We have a massive sense of purpose about what we do and are all very passionate about it."
