Flooding has returned to Verulamium Park, and has been pictured by residents in the area.

The waters returned today (Friday, March 22), with the lake previously flooding last month.

Paths surrounding Verulamium Lake are affected by the floods, and benches are inaccessible to walkers.

The footpath on the east side of Verulamium Lake is completely underwater.

On February 9, similar scenes were found at the location.

At the time, flooding was seen close to Holywell Hill and Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre, where birds had been spotted enjoying a new-found lake.

The Met Office has predicted further rain for tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, March 23).

Showers will take place between 12noon and 3pm, with heavy rain - and a 60 per cent chance of precipitation - predicted for 2pm.
