After being struck by a balaclava-clad man with a metal post, a victim has been taken to hospital with ABH-level injuries.

The incident took place on Fore Street, Hertford, between 3.15am and 3.23am on Sunday, February 11.

At that time, a man described as a white male in his early twenties - who wore a black coat with the hood up, a balaclava covering most of his face and black trousers - struck his victim on the head with a metal post.

This caused the male to sustain a cut to his head that required hospital treatment.
