A woman in her 60s was found lying in the road in Hemel Hempstead this morning.

The incident took place at around 8.33am today (Tuesday, January 16), when the woman was discovered in Warners End Road.

As police and ambulance teams attended the scene, it was ascertained that she had fallen and banged her head.

The road was closed until 9.15am, with motorists asked to avoid the area.

The woman was then taken to hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries.
