A woman in her 60s was found lying in the road in Hemel Hempstead this morning.

The incident took place at around 8.33am today (Tuesday, January 16), when the woman was discovered in Warners End Road.

As police and ambulance teams attended the scene, it was ascertained that she had fallen and banged her head.

The road was closed until 9.15am, with motorists asked to avoid the area.

The woman was then taken to hospital with "non-life-threatening" injuries.


A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police were called at around 8.33am today (Tuesday 16 January), to report that a woman was found lying in the road in Warners End Road.

"She had fallen over and banged her head. Officers attended the scene along with colleagues from the ambulance service.

"A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."
