The Alban Arena has a packed 2024 schedule, filled with laugh-out-loud comedy, brilliant music and entertaining evenings.

Here are five of the best upcoming shows at the beloved venue.

1. Miles Jupp - On I Bang

Touring for the first time since 2017, the star of hit Disney Plus show The Full Monty returns to the stage sees him reflect on his life-changing brain seizure and tumour.

His new show, On I Bang, is a tale about surprise, fear, luck, love and qualified medical practitioners.

This event is taking place on Tuesday, January 30. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £26.

2. An Evening with Sir Geoff Hurst

They think it’s all over, and it is now, as Sir Geoff Hurst embarks on his farewell tour.

His hat-trick in the final won England the 1966 World Cup, and now Sir Geoff is coming to the Alban Area to relive his career, telling humorous and gripping tales from his time at West Ham United, and of course, with the Three Lions. 

This event is taking place on Wednesday, February 21. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £31.50. VIP Meet and Greet tickets cost £82.

3. An Evening with Anton Du Beke and Friends

Strictly Come Dancing legend and judge, Anton Du Beke, takes to the Alban Arena stage with his show in 2024.

Joined his live band, a guest singer and his dancers, expect a fabulous evening, as he performs some of the songs and dances that have inspired his career.

This event is taking place on Sunday, May 5. Doors open at 4pm and the show starts at 5pm. Tickets cost £46.

4. Julian Clary – A Fist Full of Clary

"Yes, it has a Western theme," said Clary, as he reflects on his 2024 tour. "It was only a matter of time before I eased myself into some chaps."

A national treasure, the Alban Arena will certainly be filled with laughter when Clary comes to town later this year.

This event is taking place on Thursday, May 16. Doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £31.

5. The Horne Section’s Hit Show

Led by Taskmaster star Alex Horne, The Horne Section are tuning their instruments for another UK tour, stopping in St Albans along the way.

The band have performed with artists including Robbie Williams, Madness, Florence and the Machine, Amy Winehouse and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, as well as having their own Channel 4 series and a chart-topping iTunes podcast.

There’ll be comedy, songs, enthusiastic dancing, and a lot of mucking about.

This event is taking place on Thursday, July 18. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets cost £27.
