Redbourn has won two awards in the 2023 'Britain in Bloom' competition.

Organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Redbourn received Britain in Bloom's Gold Award and was named as the Best Small Town following an initial inspection in August.

Pat Schofield, a founder of Redbourn In Bloom, also won a Community Champion award for her voluntary work.

St Luke’s School for Special Educational Needs, which took part in the effort to enhance the village, received a Certificate of Achievement.

To celebrate, St Albans mayor Cllr Anthony Rowlands, invited those involved to a reception at the city's Civic Centre.

“Congratulations go to local residents whose dedication over many years made this accolade possible.

"Their unstinting efforts not only benefit the whole community of Redbourn but also illustrate what can be done by voluntary effort to enhance public spaces.”
