Hertfordshire police have begun to crack down on parking near St Albans city centre.

Issues regarding parking on London Road have been highlighted to officers, particularly outside the parade of shops opposite Watsons Walk.

On Friday (December 8), a number of tickets were issued to motorists, while other drivers were spoken to by Police Sergeant Lee Hammond.

The officer confirmed that London Road would be an area of interest for the foreseeable future.

PS Hammond said: "This is an ongoing issue that continues to be brought up.

"We will actively be working with parking enforcement to stop parking outside this parade of shops on the double yellow lines.

"We will be patrolling London Road for the foreseeable future."
