A balaclava-clad man has left his victim with cuts, bruises and swelling after attacking him with a "bladed weapon" in a St Albans park.

The incident occurred at around 12.20pm on Monday, December 4, in Greenwood Park, near to Tippendell Lane.

It is reported that the victim was going to the park to meet a friend, but he was attacked and pushed to the floor by a man wearing a balaclava, who used a bladed weapon to assault him.

The victim suffered GBH level injuries, including a serious cut to his left hand as well as smaller cuts, bruises and swelling.

"I am appealing for any information or people who may have witnessed the incident that happened in Greenwood Park," said Detective Constable Ben Hardwick, investigating.

"The park is surrounded by a housing estate, so if you live near to the park and have any doorbell footage that may help our enquiries, please get in touch."
