German beer-fever swept through St Albans last weekend, as lederhosen-clad residents and visitors alike descended on Herts County Showground.
On Friday, October 27, and Saturday, October 28, the St Albans leg of Hertfordshire Oktoberfest was celebrated at the showground near Redbourn.
Shuttle buses collected those in traditional German dress from St Peter's Street and Harpenden train station, before transporting them to a festival of beer, music and activities.
Axe throwing and games were enjoyed, while an Oktoberfest band from Manchester serenaded those partaking in the Bavarian festivities.
Hertfordshire's Mad Squirrel brewery provided an Oktoberfest range of German-style beers, ranging from Native, Zealous Pilsner and Wies'n.
Outside, food vans from the likes of Chicken George provided sustenance for guests. A swinging Bavarian grill provided Bratwurst sausages, with garlic mushrooms and German fries also available.

A spokesperson for Barbican Events, which organised the festival, said: "The shuttle bus service we provided from St Peter's Street subsequently made St Albans pubs and restaurants super busy.
"We had 2,500 people inside the tent on Saturday evening and our research and observations from suppliers have confirmed that we hosted the biggest Oktoberfest in the UK!"
The event follows the successful Hertford leg of Hertfordshire Oktoberfest, which saw over 4,600 people attend.
