Harpenden charity PARC (Playpark Action Rothamsted Committee) has appealed for donations and sponsors to help achieve their goal of redeveloping Rothamsted Park's skatepark.

Overall, a £250,000 budget is needed for the project, with Harpenden Town Council already committing £100,000 to the cause.

The remaining £150,000 is set to be raised by PARC through fundraising initiatives.

Rod Cooley, a representative of the charity, said: "We are asking businesses, local organisations and park users if they could sponsor this important redevelopment.

"There are various options to help with this and every penny will help us in achieving our goals.”

Personalised bricks can be purchased for £100, while a text donation system has also been created.

A spokesperson for the charity added: "PARC is asking local businesses to sponsor the skatepark.

"Any donation would be welcome, but if businesses can donate £2,500 their company name and logo will be put on a sponsor board to be located next to the new skatepark.
