George Street in St Albans is set to be flooded with food and live music this week as the city hosts the Gin & Jazz festival.

The event, now in its fifth year,  has been organised by St Albans BID and the George Street Retail Association.

From 6pm to 11pm on Friday night (October 6), shops and hospitality venues are set to open their doors for late night shopping, while the street is lined with "fabulous gin bars".

Businesses will provide a variety of gin blends on the night, alongside other beverages and non-alcoholic alternatives.

For example, the George Street Canteen will be serving its own Honey Gin in collaboration with the Pudding Stone Distillery.

Galio Jewellers, Trinder Hair Studios and WAGADA Digital will also be serving company-own blends.

"Join us for a unique evening in historic George Street, located in the Cathedral quarter of the city.

"This collaboration between George Street businesses and the BID delivers a popular annual social event for St Albans locals and visitors alike which showcases our vibrant independent businesses.”

"We’ll have live Jazz in the shop with drinks for our lovely customers as well as a bar outside.
