A St Albans social group for millennials recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with pub drinks and piñatas.

Around 50 people from the 'Social in St Albans - Millennials' group marked the milestone at the White Hart Tap beer garden on Saturday, September 16.

Several of the groups early members, who have since moved away from St Albans, returned to join in the festivities - which included piñatas shaped as a 'one' and a 'zero'.

The group was created in 2013 on the Meetup social media platform for people to meet others and try new experiences, resulting in long-running friendships and even one or two marriages.

They are welcoming new members in their 20s, 30s or early 40s, and hold regular walks, pub drinks, restaurant trips, badminton games and craft nights.

Group organiser Hywel Farnhill said: "It was great to see so many people turn up for our birthday party.

"What was especially enjoyable was seeing people who have been part of the group in the past but have since moved away.

"This group has created so many friendships and it was great to rekindle some of them."
