Harpenden Choral Society was founded in 1975 and currently has around 75 members, and is looking to recruit new members in all voice sections.

Free singing lessons are also offered to new joiners under the age of 30, while reduced subscriptions are available to those under 30, full-time students and anyone in receipt of income-related benefits.

The choir's 2022 to 2023 season included a sell-out performance of Handel's Messiah in November, a highly praised performance of Faure's Requiem and Vaughan William's Dona Nobis Pacem in March, and a summer concert which included Rheinberger's Mass in Eb and Brahms' Song of Destiny.
