An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of a Land Rover from a driveway in Berkhamsted.

The Defender was taken at around 11.20am on Wednesday, May 31, and recovered before the victim had realised it had been stolen.

Once it had been taken, officers from Hertfordshire police spotted the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit.

A 26-year-old man was then taken into custody on suspicion of conspiracy to steal motor vehicles.

He has since been placed on bail, while Hertfordshire police continue their enquiries.

DC Paul Cullinan said: “We know that theft of motor vehicles has been a concern for local residents, and we are happy to be able to bring some good news to the victim of this particular incident.
