To help deter thieves, officers from the Bushey and Radlett Safer Neighbourhood Team hosted two free bike-marking events for residents over the weekend.

The events took place at King George Park in Bushey and Phillimore Recreational Ground in Radlett, on Sunday, May 28.

Around 20 bikes were security marked in total and officers also provided essential safety and security tips. They also showed children round the police cars.

PC Eryka Morris said: “Having your bike security marked is something that we really recommend.

"It takes just seconds and it deters thieves as the bike becomes harder to sell on.

“If you were unable to make the events, don’t forget you can register your bike at bikeregister.com. This is a national database that can be used to help find your bike should it ever get lost or stolen.”
