A stranded lorry has caused a "large build up" of traffic in Wheathampstead.

The incident took place on Lower Luton Road, at around 9.10am this morning (Friday, March 24).

Both sides of the carriageway had been blocked, with eye witnesses reporting that the lorry has overturned.

Hertfordshire police have since confirmed that the lorry did not overturn, and had become stuck in mud at the side of the ride.

The vehicle has since been recovered, and the road reopened.
