A man has been arrested after reportedly being seen in possession of a firearm near the A414 in St Albans.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon (March 20), when the sighting of a man with the weapon was reported to Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Officers arrested a 53-year-old man after attending the scene.
He has since been released on bail, while police continue their enquiries.

"Extensive searches" for the weapon have since been conducted in a wooded area near London Colney.
However, no weapon has yet been found.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Police have conducted searches near the A414 in St Albans as part of ongoing enquiries into an incident where a man was reportedly seen in possession of what was believed to have been a firearm on the afternoon of Monday, March 20.

"Officers attended the area and a 53-year-old man was subsequently arrested. He been released on bail while enquiries continue.
"Extensive searches of a wooded area near London Colney were conducted, but no weapon was found.
"No one was injured during the incident."
