1. The White Lion, Sopwell Lane
The White Lion, on Sopwell Lane, has a 4.5 star rating on TripAdvisor.
145 of the location's 215 reviews gave the establishment five stars out of five.
Clementine L said: "This is my favourite pub in St Albans, the staff are always nice and friendly and they do a great selection of Big Smoke brewery pints!
"Their food is also incredible!"
2. The Great Northern, London Road
Another pub with a 4.5 star rating is the Great Northern on London Road.
89 of the location's 134 reviewers gave the pub top marks.
One TripAdvisor reviewer, TravellinTomS, said: "This quality establishment never disappoints.
"Always cheerful staff, clearly enjoying their work and giving great service."
3. The Garibaldi, Albert Street
The Garibaldi is a pub on Albert Street, St Albans.
The establishment has a 4.5 star rating, with 51 of 84 reviewers giving the location five stars.
Tim E commented: "A great traditional pub with truly outstanding bar staff, always exceptional service with a smile.
"The real ale is immaculate."
4. The Victoria, Victoria Street

However, of those 23, 18 reviewers gave the location all five stars, achieving a 4.5 star rating overall.
Brian M commented: "First rate pint of Guinness served by efficient and friendly bar staff.
"Football on TV for those who want it, but plenty of other areas for drinking away from it if that’s what you wanted."
5. The Prae Wood Arms, Garden House Lane
The Prae Wood Arms is a more rural pub, on St Albans' Garden House Lane.
The location has a four star rating, with 364 of 857 reviewers giving the location all five stars.
