Owen Farrell stands poised to win his 100th England cap after being named in the squad for the autumn tests.

The former Harpenden Rugby Club junior and Harpenden St George's pupil currently has 97 appearances to his name but will have four games to tip over into three figures.

Courtney Lawes could join him, the Northampton second row one behind him on 96.

They are part of a 36-strong squad taking part in a five-day training camp in Jersey and will link up again at Pennyhill Park ahead of the first game with Argentina on November 6.

England then host Japan a week later with New Zealand and South Africa on the next two weekends.

Farrell's fellow old Georgians, Maro Itoje and Jack Singleton are also included as is former Old Albanian Max Malins.

Another ex-St George's pupil George Ford misses out due to injury as does St Albans' Nick Isiekwe.

Head coach Eddie Jones said: "This is a very strong, vibrant squad and a number of good players have been left out.  We are pleased with the depth and the strength of the squad.

"The autumn internationals will be like a mini Rugby World Cup for us, starting with two tough games against Argentina and Japan which mirrors our pool fixtures at next year’s tournament.

"Then we’ll have knock out type games against New Zealand and South Africa – all four games will be great tests for us.

"In Jersey we’ll start the week with Misogi activity where the players will find out about themselves and each other.

"Then we’ll rip into training for the rest of the week, so the team can come together on and off the pitch."
