A 22-YEAR-OLD man has pleaded guilty to attacking a man over twice his age in Wheathampstead.

Ben Smith of Trumpington Drive pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to a 47-year-old man at St Albans Crown Court last Thursday (14).

The incident, which happened on Wheathampstead High Street last August, was described as "horrendous" by a police spokesperson at the time and the victim, who lives in Wheathampstead, had to be taken to hospital to recover.

Smith will be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court next month (26).
