VANDALS blighting a local park struck again last night (Wednesday).
Firefighters were called to the play area in Sherwood Avenue, Marshalswick, just before 6pm and found a pile of rubbish alight in the adjoining tennis clubhouse.
The flames were quickly put out by the crew from St Albans and caused minimal damage.
But it's the second time in a matter of weeks that vandals have struck the mothballed pavilion. In the last attack they damaged a toilet, smashed all remaining glass, scattered rubbish and turned on the taps, leaving them running.
There have also been ongoing vandalism attacks on the adjoining children's park.
In mid-August bolt cutters were used to cut the chains on four large swings and a basket swing and on Saturday (Aug 29) night the wave swing was set on fire.
Police are investigating all of the incidents and anyone with any information about who is responsible should contact 0845 33 00 222.
