MORE than 1,500 was raised for Grove House at a hugely-successful Christmas market last weekend.
Hundreds of Christmas shoppers braved the elements to browse around a wide range of unusual gift stalls at the Childwickbury market.
Among the exhibitors was calligrapher Annie Larner who collected more than 90 for the hospice and a local honey maker from Childwickbury who donated 50p for every pot of honey sold.
Christiane Kubrick, whose Childwickbury Arts hosted the Christmas market, said: "I am always happy to lend our support to Grove House. The hospice is such a very special place, doing amazing work to support local people with cancer."
Liz Hizli, community fundraiser at Grove House, thanked Mrs Kubrick and her team. She said: "The weekend was a great success and we are enormously grateful to Mrs Kubrick for once again supporting the hospice. We rely heavily on local support to keep our services running."
