ESSENTIAL gardening equipment has been stolen from the allotment of a partially-sighted man.
Gravel boards, bean poles and wooden posts were among the items stolen from the allotments in Tassel Hall, Redbourn, between Wednesday, December 23, and Sunday, January 17.
The posts were intended to be used by the man to create a boundary around his allotment and enable him to work more easily because of his significant sight impairment.
The 57-year-old man from Redbourn had not been able to tend to his allotment during that time because of the snow.
Investigating officer, Pc Christine Clayson, said she would like to hear from members of the public who might have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area over the Christmas period and early January as well as anyone who might have been offered similar items for sale.
She can be contacted on 0845 33 00 222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
