POLICE have given the all-clear to a property in the city centre where a noxious substance was thought to be leaking.
Officers entered the Alma Road property wearing protective clothing but did not find a leak and a spokesperson said it was “all fine”.
The fire and ambulance services were on the scene from around 10.30am. Alma Road was closed from the junction with Victoria Street and London Road and police will soon announce whether that or any other road closures will be put in place.
One passerby said it looked as though the leak could have been in the houses beside the undertakers which were being renovated, but there has been no confirmation that this is the case.
A spokesperson stressed that there was never any direct risk to members of the public.
