YULE never believe it but what could be the first Christmas tree in the district has been spotted by readers of the Herts Advertiser.
The table-top tree, advertising their Christmas and New Year menus, has been up in the Colney Fox in London Colney since early August.
But perhaps the biggest surprise is that the pub has already been inundated with bookings for this year’s festive period, particularly groups looking to book for Christmas Day.
One reader, who wished not to be named, said: “I’d just come back from my holiday and popped in for a quick bite to eat and saw their Christmas tree. I had been a bit depressed about the weather but when I saw that, I certainly felt like summer was over.”
A spokesperson for Mitchells and Butlers, the company which owns the pub, said the small display had been set up in response to customer demand.
