POLICE have confirmed that they believe a body found on the Gorhambury Estate this morning is missing pensioner Alan Spray.
The body was found by a member of the public at about 9.12am this morning in the grounds of the St Albans estate.
Alan, aged 73 who suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease, went missing on Saturday, July 30, from his wife’s place of work, in Verulam Road in St Albans.
Officers launched a search for him supported by colleagues from the Beds and Herts dog unit, specialist search teams and Beds Police where Alan had links.
Formal identification is still due to take place but Mr Spray’s wife Barbara said: “The family and I would like to thank everybody who has supported us – we would like to thank the public, the police and the media.
“The family and I regret that he was not found alive.”
