A MAN in his 50s was airlifted to hospital this afternoon (Wednesday) after falling off a ladder in St Albans.
The East of England Ambulance Service was called to a property in Upton Avenue, just after midday.
The air ambulance was also called and landed in nearby Victoria playing fields, off Verulam Road.
Crews worked together to stabilise the man and the fire service was also called to assist with the rescue.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “The man has been airlifted to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge with a suspected spinal injury.”
