A WOMAN was left sore and in a state of shock after a half-full can of beer was thrown at her from a passing car.

The 66 year old was walking from St Albans city centre along Hatfield Road when the incident happened, hitting her on the back of the head and covering her in beer.

The can came from a car thought to be small and possibly silver, heading away from the city centre.

It was thrown at the junction of Blandford Road and Hatfield Road between 8.45pm and 9pm on Saturday June 9.

Police are looking to speak with two young girls who were sat in a nearby car and spoke to the victim shortly after the attack.

PC Matt Langley said: “We believe they saw the incident and may have information that is crucial to the investigation.”

Anyone with information should call the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
