A WOMAN walking through St Albans used her rape alarm to scare away a man who made indecent remarks about her.
Herts Police have appealed for witnesses after the incident which occurred at about 8.40am on Friday September 21.
A spokesman said the woman was walking along Ragged Hall Lane when a man, who she believed had been following her for some time, made indecent remarks about her.
Distressed by the incident, the 29-year-old woman sounded her rape alarm.
The man ran off and was last seen at the junction with Furzebushes Lane.
He was described as being either of Asian or southern European appearance, around 5ft 10in tall, slim build and aged between 25 and 30. He was wearing a dark sports jacket and black jeans.
PC Ed Messinger, investigating, said: āIād like to speak to anyone who believes they saw this incident or a man answering this description in the Ragged Hall Lane area at the time.ā
