STAR of TV comedy, Hi Di Hi Ruth Madoc joined the St Albans Welsh Society recently for a dinner to celebrate St David’s Day.
Daffodils complemented the traditional evening at the Old Albanian Rugby Football Club in St Albans, which also featured Welsh entertainment and music.
Rhys Madoc, son of Ruth and the late actor Philip Madoc who lived in London Colney, talked about his father who was once the President of the Welsh Society.
Anona Morgan, from the society, said: “Rhys and Ruth gave a wonderful reading from Under Milk Wood, the masterpiece play by the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
“The evening concluded in the traditional manner, singing Welsh hymns and songs, hymns and arias.”
