Two men forced their way into the home of a 63-year-old woman last night in London Colney and made off with her purse and some jewellery.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the burglary, which happened at around 8.15pm in Five Acres when thieves barged into the victim’s home as she answered the door and knocked her over in the process.
They demanded money and searched the living room and bedroom before running off in an unknown direction with her belongings.
The men were both wearing dark hoodies and jogging bottoms and are described as white, in their early 20s and around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall.
Investigating Officer Dc Neil Pugh said: “This was a very frightening experience for the lady, who although not seriously injured, has been left traumatised by the incident.
“Preying on the elderly and vulnerable is despicable and we want to trace these men as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information should contact Dc Pugh on the non-emergency 101 number or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
