The Luton Airport expansion has been given the green light by the Government this morning.
Eric Pickles, the Secretary of State for Local Government, decided not to call in the plans, meaning that Luton Borough Council can now grant planning permission for the works.
Once completed the expansion would see an extra nine million passengers per year at the airport, which many locals in neighbouring Harpenden already regard overcrowded.
