The 50th anniversary of a local wildlife charity is being commemorated with a nine-day festival, including a series of events in St Albans.
Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust kicked off celebrations with a plant sale last weekend and have teamed up with Herts Natural History Society, which has been hosting a series of wildlife lectures this week at Verulamium Museum.
Topics vary from fish to mammals, and birds to butterflies.
The trust manages over 40 nature reserves and advises landowners and other partners on how to manage land in a way that benefits wildlife.
Hert’s first Festival of Wildlife, supported by Clydesdale Bank, was launched by St Albans Mayor Cllr Geoff Harrison at Verulamium Park on Monday (11).
