Film fans are invited to come along to a Friday night of movie fun at an annual charity screening.
Harpenden Public Halls will play host to a showing of Richard Curtis’ rom-com About Time this Friday (6) to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Guests can enjoy wine and nibbles while watching the quirky British favourite, which tells the story of Tim, who finds out he can time travel at the age of 21.
The film is written and directed by Richard Curtis – writer of Love Actually, Notting Hill and Four Weddings - and stars Bill Nighy, Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams.
The night will raise money for the Macmillan Chemotherapy unit at Lister hospital, which is a key source of support for those suffering with cancer in the district.
Sadie Homer, a member of the Harpenden Macmillan fundraising committee, said: “It’s a great, fun night. Come and watch a fab movie and support an extremely important local cause.”
In its third year, the event attracted an impressive 220 guests last year, and there are still tickets left for this year’s event.
The film starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £10, which includes a glass of wine and nibbles.
Godfrey’s Fish and Chips are bringing in trays of hot chips for guests to enjoy.
