A cyclist has been left seriously injured following an assault in London Colney on Tuesday (30).
The 27 year old man suffered fractures to his face after being hit on the side of his head while cycling along the High Street at around 5.35pm.
The seemingly unprovoked attack happened outside the chip shop near the junction of Kings Road.
Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were seen to be standing over the victim after he had fallen to the floor.
Detective Sergeant Karen Lewis from the Local Crime Unit, St Albans, said: “I am also aware that there were a number of other people in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened and I would ask anyone with any information to please contact me.”
