Enthusiastic gardeners poured into a Harpenden hall recently for a recording of an iconic Radio 4 programme.
A full house in Park Hall greeted experts Matt Biggs, Ann Swithinbank and James Wong together with chairman Eric Robson for a recording of Gardeners’ Question Time hosted by Harpenden Gardening Society.
Questions addressed to the panel included compost composition, outlandish potatoes and replacement ideas for a 200-year-old beech tree about to be felled.
All the questions were answered by the experts who are not given any prior knowledge of what they will be asked.
