A St Albans man whose house was raided by police last year has pleaded not guilty to 13 firearms, shotgun and ammunition related charges.

Alan Tissington, 49, of Windmill Avenue, has been granted bail after appearing in St Albans Crown Court, and will go on trial next year.

Mr Tissington was arrested on September 17, 2014, after a warrant was executed at his home. Months later he was charged with alleged firearms and ammunition offences.

A number of First and Second World War artefacts and munitions were seized during the Herts Police-led operation.
