Traffic was brought to a standstill in a busy main thoroughfare in St Albans city centre yesterday (Sunday) after a car collided with a pedestrian.
Herts Police were called to Chequer Street at 3.27pm following a report of a collision between a black Toyota Prius and a woman, close to the HSBC bank.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said a first response vehicle arrived at the scene within seven minutes, with an ambulance attending minutes later.
He said that as the woman only suffered minor injuries to a wrist, paramedics discharged her at the scene.
A spokesman for Herts Police said the road was temporarily blocked until about 4pm.
A man was breathalysed at the scene, but no charges were laid.
