Firefighters from St Albans Fire Station were called to help extract people believed to be trapped following a two-car collision in Holywell Hill this afternoon (Thursday).
However, a spokesman for the emergency service said that upon arrival at the scene of the collision, at the entrance of Westminster Lodge, no such help was needed, so firefighters gave first aid assistance until paramedics arrived.
A Herts Police spokesman said that the collision occurred just after 3pm, between a black Peugeot 107 and black Vauxhall Corsa.
A spokesman for East of England Ambulance Service Trust said a woman was taken to Watford General Hospital for further treatment for minor injuries. Two other people were assessed at the scene, but did not need any hospitalisation.
