An online petition has been launched calling for St Albans MP Anne Main and Harpenden MP Peter Lilley to stand down.
It says that both politicians campaigned ‘tirelessly’ to leave the European Union, despite constituents showing a “contradicting belief” to remain in the bloc.
The petition adds: “Having lost the support of the local electorates on this key issue, they can no longer credibly hold this office.”
