A Radlett cancer sufferer has admitted stabbing his partner of 25 years to death.
Raymond Page, 64, pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Natividad Nituan, 70, on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
At St Albans crown court on Friday, prosecutor Peter Shaw accepted Page was not guilty of murder, saying: “In light of the defendant’s psychiatric state, the plea is acceptable to the crown.”
Police and ambulance crews were called by Page himself to the couple’s home on Orchard Close on Tuesday, July 25, and found Ms Nituan dead in the bedroom.
Philip Evans, defending, said Mr Page, who has cancer, was being transferred from prison to hospital.
Judge Andrew Bright QC adjourned sentence until January, and said a psychiatrist recommended Page is sentenced to a Section 41 Order under the Mental Health Act.
The judge ordered a medical report on Page’s cancer.
